my classroom!

I have spent over 12 hours in the last 3 days in my classroom cleaning it out and trying to get it into working order. I have made a lot of progress but there is still so much to do. I am going to try my best to go in again on Monday. I also found a place to live that is 20 minutes closer to school which is fantastic! I am so excited about it-there is even an ocean view. Well here are some pictures of my classroom. throughout the clean out process. I think I probably filled 5 big garbage cans total, so far. There is just so much stuff in the room. I need to decide what I actually will use. I need to spend some time in the room just planning after I figure out the curriculum...glad I started now.

classroom while they were cleaning the carpets.

Front of the classroom

After 4 garbage cans

Still in search of storage solutions for all of those shelves.

Front of the room it's not set up but stuff is in roughly the place I want it...for now...

View from behind my desk...for now. this part of the room is still a mess, waiting to be able to put stuff on the shiny floor.

My currently messy desk. My goal for next week is to eliminate the mess there.

So there is the rough tour of my classroom. It is nowhere near ready but it is still much closer than it was on Wednesday when I got there.

Fantastic! Remember that plastic shoeboxes (with lids) run about $1 each and are easy to label and stack, so sorting manipulatives and puzzles is a breeze when trying to make everything fit in cabinetry.

I organize my storage/shelving by subject: all math manipulatives in one area, puzzles in another, science in another, pretend play/puppets, etc. in another so I can just grab and go.

Can't wait to see it all finished and occupied!

the plastic shoeboxes (definitely with lids) are my next thing to take care of. I am very excited to have it all finished and occupied too!

What storage space! That's such a great thing for kinder. I remember cleaning out my room... I had a total of 5 other teachers' stuff in there! (Obviously things they never used or wanted, either!) Good luck and thanks for following me!
